About Meerim

I'm Meerim Zhanuzakova, a self-taught painter based in Cambridge, UK. As a kid I was obsessed with animation — movement, character, story on screen — but life took me into tech instead. Painting is where that early interest found its way back.

My work moves between two threads. Unveiling sits with the parts of my life and experience I'm still working through. My cat paintings exist for the opposite reason — they're just things that make me happy to look at.
